Game Show!

Filed under: aino minako, ami (self), free time, friends, great music — Ami @ 5:52 pm

Rei-chan asked us to help her with something. It turned out to be a competition between her and Aino Minako. It was a bit shocking, to say the least. Apparently she was willing to become an idol…I have to think there was something behind it given her distaste for all things karaoke.
Mako-chan and I played for Rei’s team, and Usagi and Luna for Minako’s. I think the meaning behind it was for us all to do something together as friends. We did all have fun as a group. I’ll have to post some pictures. I still need to post pictures from when Rei-chan and I had the camp-out at CROWN.

Minako-san’s new song is great, though. “Kiss-kiss, bang-bang!” I’m sure Usagi-chan’s going to be singing it for a long time.

Developments

Jupiter has awakened. She is amazing. The raw power that she can command…it’s breath-taking but also very scary.

After we left CROWN last night we ran into Motoki-onii-san he told us that Mako-chan had turned him down. We were trying to track down where she was at to find out if she was okay when she called us and said there were youma attacking her.

We were making her way to the lake to help her when we were stopped by youma of “our own”, they were strange, melting up from the pavement, unusual for youma. Rei said they felt weaker than youma we’d fought before, but youma they still were, so we transformed to fight them.

The appearing and reappearing was confusing us and keeping us off guard until Venus appeared to help us, and we were able to defeat them to go and help Mako-chan.

When we found her she was holding her hands together in front of her standing beneath a tree. The sky turned from day to night as thunder clouds rumbled overhead and lightning flashed and struck her, but she absorbed it. She didn’t seem to hear us when we called out to her.

“The power of Jupiter is awakening,” Venus told us.

When she finally opened her eyes she snatched more lightning from the sky, thunder clapped around us. Jupiter called a power we hadn’t heard before, and destroyed the youma that remained nearby with a brilliant burst of crackling green energy as it dissipated the daylight returned.

Mako-chan turned to us, “It’s because I’ve always been alone,” she said, and then she looked at Venus and said, “I…understand. It was necessary for it to be like that forme to end up alone, listening to the wind. All of it has been decided for us since our past lives, that’s why I’m okay alone.”

Both Moon and I tried to protest given she’s such a good friend but she told us that it didn’t mean she wouldn’t be friends with us any more, that it was hard for her to put it into words but that it all came from the past lives we shared.

People still aren’t talking to Usagi.
Although from what she was saying today things might be looking up when we get back to school next week.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

We waited for Usagi to meet us at a coffee shop this evening, but she didn’t show. On the upside Rei and I got to talk to Makoto a bit, and ease her feelings, I hope, about things that have and haven’t been going on.
It seems there had been a mix-up, Usagi was working with Kuroki-san to produce a concert for Aino Minako (!) but we got the message she would meet us. Makoto feels, and I think she may be right, this is Kuroki-san sabotage. Rei agreed once she got over being very, very ticked at the waste of time.

Party

Filed under: ami (self), free time, friends, great music, hino rei, usagi-chan — Ami @ 8:22 pm

Minna-san threw a party for me, which was nice. I was considering it a little unnecessary, but it certainly brought home to me the togetherness that we have. We took a few pictures.

We sang karaoke, and had lots of good food thanks to Mako-chan.
Luna says starting this week, she will be training us with new methods, hoping to awaken more fully past memories of being senshi in Makoto and myself. I’m sure this will be tricky, this sort of thing is what’s been making me think in depth about past lives and so on. I’ve been looking at some books, but I’m really tired right now. I’ll hold this entry until I have the pictures.

EDIT:
I decided I would post the entry anyway…as I’ve not been as quick at getting the pictures sorted out as I would liked to have been.
So, I will post it now, and post another entry with pictures in later.

Saturday

Filed under: ami (self), chiba mamoru, free time, usagi-chan — Ami @ 6:46 pm

I feel in some ways I’ve been a little out of the loop lately. On the one hand it gives me time to catch up on my journal while I’m having a break from knitting because Luna is molesting my wool…but…we actually fought a battle, briefly, with the Princess’ help the other day, she ran off and Mars ran after her, Moon, Jupiter and myself were left to fight the two shittenou who were around. No sign of the one who kidnapped Usagi-chan the last month.
We found out what’s been troubling Usagi-chan; it -was- Chiba-san. Apparently he has a girlfriend.
We’ve been making mufflers in school, and while I’ve been bored, I’ve been making gloves for everyone also so that I can keep practicing and because I want to do something for my friends, other than help with homework.
Luna and I have been talking a lot lately about the various different things. Rei seems to have a burning project to do with the Princess that she doesn’t want to let anyone in on, and Mako is on a one woman crusade to find out exactly what’s going on with Chiba-san and Usagi-chan; I’ll leave her to that one, I’m sure I would be thoroughly useless with love problems, as I’ve said many times before.
I hope that soon we’re actually all able to be in the same room together, at the same time, but who knows, perhaps what Rei is working on means that Venus will actually come and visit and explain some things to us, and maybe something will work out as far as Usagi’s love situation goes, there are days I’ve seen her looking so sad, and I really wish I could do something more.
Well, I should go so that I can finish the gloves and then I decided I would use up the ends of my wool so that I can make something for Luna also, then I have to go home.

Photos: Various Events

Filed under: ami (self), free time, friends, hino rei, osaka naru, photos, usagi-chan — Ami @ 4:51 am

Since it was pointed out to me that I have not posted certain pictures of things which happened quite some time ago, or a certain picture of myself which Usagi-chan took…without further ado, here they are:

Hallowe’en Time:

That is Usagi-chan in the bear suit-I swear! And a couple of pictures she got of me dressed up as a cat.

Sleepover

Firstly I must say that if you see a book with the title below: do NOT buy it!

Now onto the pictures of minna-san having fun:

And here is when we tried out make-up. Minna-san didn’t do so badly, but I…I’ve never really used make-up before. I look like a clown!

Usagi-chan snapped this picture of me without my glasses on. I wasn’t so happy about it at the time, but I’m getting more used to being without them:

I better show the picture of myself in the kimono that Usagi-chan took also:

Nako-Nako

From when minna-san were going through the Nako-nako phase. Usagi-chan stayed up working on her costume.

Last but not least a couple of pictures of Motoki-onii-san for Mako-chan:

Catch up

Filed under: ami (self), free time, friends, great music, usagi-chan — Ami @ 6:06 pm

It’s been a while (two weeks, I think) since I was able to update, and I’ve been trying to backdate the entries, but it’s getting a little tricky, and I’m having a hard time talking about some thing that happened recently anyhow, because it was pretty awful. I already tried to write about it once and the computer ate it. Maybe that’s a sign. If it happens again I suppose I’m not going to talk about it.

The week started off fairly well. We had arranged to all get together at the Hikawa Shrine and work on preparations for our own New Year’s Party. Mako-chan and I arrived about the same time, Usagi-chan was nowhere in sight, which isn’t unexpected; she’s often late to our group meetings, but when an hour had passed and there was no sign of her we were starting to get a little worried that she had completely forgotten or something had happened to her. Rei-chan was about to call her when the phone rang. It was Usagi-chan but before she was able to explain why she was late there was a bit of an accident and a lot of things got spilled, so Rei-chan told her she was better not coming over so late after all.

We were eventually able to get things cleared up, and then Rei-chan and I went to Mako-chan’s for dinner. We had something that she had decided she wasn’t going to make for our party, after all. It was very good.

Then at the weekend came our party. To begin with it was very enjoyable: we did celebrations and formal dinner (minna-san looked so kawaii in their kimonos–I will post an entry with some pictures in a moment. It’s good, to remember the happy times) we sang karaoke (much to Rei-chan’s discomfort); I brought everyone flan from the bakery down the street from my apartment; Rei-chan and I played jenga. Usagi-chan tried, again, to get Mako-chan to wear lipstick; we dressed up in strange costumes and took photos. But then…

Usagi-chan COLLAPSED!

We thought perhaps she was just over-exhausted…but Luna explained that before when Usagi-chan had faced a youma, which turned out to have been created by the last shittenou, she had been also attacked. Apparently this shittenou, Kunzite, can turn people into youma, and Luna had thought Usagi-chan had cured herself, but the youma had just grown dormant, to bide it’s time.
Mako-chan quizzed Luna about where they had encountered Kunzite and went there hoping to track Kunzite down and get Kunzite to turn her back.
Rei-chan asked me if I would be alright looking after Usagi-chan, and she went back to the shrine hoping to find some information out by doing a fire reading. After she had left I realized that really I needed to get Usagi-chan back to my apartment, which was going to prove tricky, but fortunately Motoki-onii-san’s friend Chiba-san was there, and volunteered to carry her for me. I was reluctant, and gave a rather strained excuse that she had apparently caught the flu.
He must have let himself out while I was fretting and running around like a mad thing trying to get enough blankets to keep her warm. It was rude of me to ignore him like that after he’d been so generous, but I was frantic…
I tried to keep Usagi-chan warm, but the monitor kept saying her temperature was still dropping, and she was starting to grow talons…I even had to borrow heaters from our neighbor.
Then I remembered I should call Ikuko-san to let her know where Usagi-chan was so she didn’t worry, that was tricky. I hated lying, but I keep reminding myself that I couldn’t exactly say, “Ohaiyo, Ikuko-san, I’m keeping your daughter here so that if she changes into an energy sucking demon she won’t eat you, your husband and her brother…”
Unfortunately Ikuko-san told Osaka-san that Usagi-chan was at my apartment, so she came over looking for a CD of hers that Usagi-chan had borrowed, and I couldn’t let her in. She must either think that Usagi-chan is really angry with her…or that I’m hateful. I told her that Usagi-chan was asleep. I don’t know what she thinks of it. Usagi-chan had seemed to be improving, maybe that’s why the Dark Kingdom acted the way they did. A dark cloud of rose petals filled the room and covered her, despite my attempts at shielding her, and then she was gone.

I ran from the apartment, hoping I could somehow find out where she had been taken. I’m not a psychic like Rei-chan, and even though I henshined and managed, I think, through sheer force of guilt and will, to get up onto the roof of the adjacent buildings.
I closed my eyes, I tried to calm myself down, I knew that I needed help, and that the others needed to know what happened, so I called them. Thankfully we have a ‘call-all’ so I didn’t have to repeat it twice.
(Mako) “What is it?”
(Rei) “Ami-chan, what happened just now?”
“The Dark Kingdom…” I managed, trying to calm my breathing, “…it must have been. Something…rose petals…Usagi-chan is gone!”
“Ami-chan…” Rei remarked, sounding upset, and yet also soothing, “Do you know where they took her?”
“We’ll be right there!” Makoto responded, sounding very ticked, “Isn’t what they were already doing enough? Damn it!”
“I don’t know where they took her,” I admit, thoroughly annoyed with myself, “I ran up here, but I can’t see anything. I-I think it was some kind of teleportation effect. They could be miles away.”
I could almost see Rei closing her eyes, “I don’t think so,” she said, “What I felt just now was a pulling east. Head east from where you are, Ami-chan, maybe you’ll pick something up. Mako-chan and I will follow, we’re not going to leave you to face this by yourself.”
“No, shit,” Makoto remarked, “I’m in an alley now. Jupiter will be on the way,” and her section of the line went dead.
“Ganbatte, Ami-chan,” Rei added, and she too was gone.
East…I closed my eyes, and took a few deep breaths, before setting off again. Rei was right, of course, the further I traveled I could feel the pull, the swelling negativity, making my skin prickle.

I found myself drawn towards a cave, it was dark and damp in there, and very cold; the walls clammy. There was an eerie light emanating and I walked towards that. A tall man with dark hair, wearing a cape that shimmered was walking around a altar shaped rock which had Usagi-chan laid out on it as though she were a sacrifice. My heart skipped, but we couldn’t let her, I couldn’t let her stay with them, that was a fate worse than death.
“Give her back!” I yelled at him, and he looked over at me with contempt. We fought, although honestly that was more him throwing my power back at me several times and me being thrown around like a rag doll. I remembered how I had been able to use the water to help me find the teleporting youma, and begged for the water to help me do something against the shittenou. As he swung his sword to attack me, I was able to form the water into a sword to stop him. I still wasn’t strong enough to defeat him, but it meant he didn’t cleave me in two.
Then, fortunately, Jupiter and Mars arrived but even their combined attack wasn’t enough to do anything against him. He deflected that back against us, also. We thought we were going to be destroyed. He told us that Usagi-chan would turn into a youma and kill us, but as he boosted the power into the transformation, she sat up yawning, and was very confused as to where she was.
She henshined though and he lunged for her, but Tuxedo Kamen stopped him and fought cane to sword with the shittenou, before Sailor Moon attacked him, but he teleported away.

Tuxedo Kamen left, and we hid in an alley outside and turned back to normal. We were all so relieved and yet a bit confused as to how come Usagi-chan was able to wake up and be alright. She said that she had heard us shouting at her and it was so noisy that she woke up! She said I was the loudest I’m not sure what to make of that.

Okay, hopefully I won’t have to write this over again (the computer connection has been on the fritz).
I don’t think I could take that.

Sunday

Filed under: ami (self), crown, free time, friends, kino makoto, national holiday — Ami @ 3:33 pm

I had a busy time because of cram school. I was helping tutor for a while, but it will be nice to have some time with close friends, at Crown.

Motoki-onii-san wasn’t there the last time we were there, I think Mako-chan was a little disappointed, but it took her mind from teasing me about Urawa-san.Last time Motoki-san wasn’t there, Chiba-san took over for him, but this time it was an older gentleman possibly the owner. I wonder how he would take to us using his space. No one seems to mind about the ‘year-long’ passes which makes me wonder…

But I’m really looking forward to the party we have planned for today.  I’m going to pick up some desserts from that favorite shop Mama and I go to. I hope everyone likes them.

Happy Holidays

Filed under: free time — Ami @ 8:53 pm

I think this has to be one of the best winters I’ve had, to be able to be with friends as well as family at this time of year is so great ^^
Senshi-tachi are planning a get together for the New Year, a second festival after Rei-chan is through with everything she has to do for the temple. It’s been quiet for a little while, perhaps the appearance of Sailor Venus, as the princess, has put off the enemy, especially with the potential destruction of one of their shittenou. They’d be down to three, Mako-chan said the blonde one said he was one of four–although we hadn’t seen him for a while, when the white-haired one appeared and disappeared.
We also haven’t been able to work with Sailor V at all, so we’re a little lost on that respect, but perhaps soon…
My grandparents got me some kawaii nezu pajamas.

I know there are a lot of my online acquaintances who are in various places around the globe and I will wish them a Happy Christmas for tomorrow. A belated Blessed Yule from Tuesday. A Happy Chanuka, and Good Kwanzaa.

Re-cap Wednesday

Filed under: free time, hino rei, kino makoto, research, usagi-chan — Ami @ 4:37 am

Again, please bear with me as I attempt narrative
I unlock the door, cautiously and push it open, as the others crowd in the corridor looking around. Usagi is making some kind of exclamation to one of the others, as I hold the door open and let them walk in.
“Are you sure this is okay?” Rei asks, as they walk past me into the entryway, “Won’t anyone mind?”
I shake my head, glancing towards the kitchen, and peeling the note off the fridge, “No. I’m sure not, it’s not as if we’re going to be horrendously loud, and most of the people near here are at work right now anyway. Mama-san…” I read the note, “She won’t be back until later. She left for us to order food.”
“Order food?” Makoto inquires, spinning a couple of circles around a few feet away from me in the kitchen, “This is amazing! You could fit my kitchen in here twice over. You can’t order food with a kitchen like this! You should use it!”
I blush.
“That’s easily fixed!” Rei points out, “Mizuno-sama said to buy food? If we buy food for Makoto to cook, that’s still food.”
“But…that’s too much trouble, Kino-san,” I demur, “We came over here for other things, not to make you slave cooking for us.”
“I want to,” she says, taking my hand in hers, “Please, please, let me do this. It’s no trouble at all, and it’s much more fun to cook for more people than just myself…” she beams, and then gets a wicked smile, “It would insult me more to refuse.”
“Oh, say she can!!” Usagi comes running back over from the window in the living room where she’d been marveling that she could see her house. Luna hot on her heels, “Mako-chan’s cooking is awesome, and I should know I’ve been stealing half her obento for a while now!”
Makoto laughs, “I can make things a lot better than that obento.”
Usagi’s eyes practically twinkle, “You have to say yes, Ami-chan you have to! I have to taste this delicious food, look at me, my mouths watering,” she has hold of my hands and is practically on her knees.
“We have things to discuss,” Luna says, jumping up onto the breakfast bar, “What if this takes a while?”
“I can talk and cook at the same time, Luna,” Makoto responds, “Plus there’ll be the time it cooks after preparation. How much do we have to talk about?”
Luna muses on this for a moment, and seems to think its’ a viable course of action as she doesn’t protest.
“As long as you really don’t mind, Kino-san…I-I guess it would be alright.” I answer.
“I don’t mind,” she says, “Truly. Now if you’ll stop calling me ‘Kino-san’”
“She’ll get there,” Rei says, leaning across the counter from the other side, next to where Luna is, she absently ruffles Luna’s fur and smoothes it back down, “It took her a few weeks to get to –chan with us, but we’re working on it, ne, Ami-chan?”
I chew on my lip, “Yes. Sorry. I just—it’s a thing.”
“Always so formal,” Usagi teases, “You could be a…um…what are those people they go and they talk with everyone and make nice.”
“Diplomats,” Rei mutters, “and no, she couldn’t. They’re also liars. Ami-chan’s far too nice for that, leave her be.”
“Ah…sorry, sorry, Rei-chan,” Usagi replies, “What did I say?”
Rei doesn’t say anything for a moment, apparently chewing on something. Makoto looks over at me, from where she was browsing the fridge apparently looking for ideas of things to make. I shake my head. I have no idea. After a moment Rei forces her face to brighten, “It’s alright. Let’s just go get food, so we can get back and discuss our plan of action, ne?”
“Yes.” Makoto says, closing the fridge, and borrowing a sheet of paper from the notepad next to it, to scribble some things down, “I have a good idea for something, so I’m ready.” I hand her the two rolled up bills that Mama-san left, and she folds them quickly slipping them into her pocket, and the four of us, Luna safely back inside Usagi’s back-pack troop back out of the apartment and to the market a few blocks away.“Put on some Aino Minako!” Usagi exclaims, excitedly, sitting down on the stool she has pulled up to the breakfast bar.
“No-no!” Rei cuts in putting up a hand, sitting next to Usagi also at the bar. I’m getting drinks for everyone, glasses on the other side of the counter.
“If that happens,” Rei continues, “You’ll rope Ami-chan into singing along and we’ll not get anything done.”
“I would not!” Usagi exclaims.
Makoto looks bemused, chopping vegetables, and scraping leftover bits off into the trash can.
“You would, Usagi-chan,” I answer, setting drinks in front of both her and Rei, “You have before.”
She looks horrorstruck, “Ami-chan! You’re supposed to defend me!”
I flush, “Is there anything I can help you with?” I offer, setting a drink down where Makoto indicates she wants it by using the pointy end of the cutting knife.
“No, not right now,” she says, “that’ll do me, but thank you,” she looks around, as I look for a small bowl to put something in for Luna, “I don’t think I’ve heard Aino Minako,” she says, “why is she such a big deal?”
“Haven’t heard?” Usagi exclaims, “Haven’t heard Aino Minako? Rei-chan we have to put her on, this is—this is awful. How can you not have heard her?”
Rei puts her head down on her arms, “Usagi-chan, it’s not so big of a deal…”
Luna taps a claw against Makoto’s glass to draw our attention. She sits back on her haunches wrapping her tail around her front paws.
“I think Luna wants to get along with the meeting,” Makoto points out.
Luna nods, “Yes, yes. As I told Ami-chan and Usagi-chan when they were first awoken, there are four senshi to guard one princess. With you four girls we have our four senshi. So, it’s going to be important for us to keep an eye on everything right now, and watch for signs of the princess. Usagi-chan! Pay attention!” she lowers her head down to where Usagi was tracing the pattern on the counter top.
Usagi looks up, with an extremely guilty expression on her face.
“What about Sailor V, Luna?” Rei asks, “Did you ever find anything out about her?” Luna frowns, “I was never able to talk with her…” she shakes her head looking down at the counter top, “and there’s so much I still don’t remember. It’s very difficult,” she sighs and sits down, resting her head on her front paws, “So, have any of you had any strange dreams or had any inklings on anything?” I hesitate.
“Yes, Ami-chan?” she asks.
“Well, it’s not so-so much an inkling as it was just thinking on things…”
“Say it anyway.”
“Well, a theory I had was sort of confirmed when Ki…Mako-chan,”
“Yaay!” Makoto calls, “Bravo.”
“Yes, well, when she became one of us, with the henshin and was Sailor Jupiter. It means that we’re for the most part named for planets, ne? Except for Usagi-chan being Sailor Moon, and we don’t have a Venus, or Saturn and so on. So, why isn’t there a Sailor Earth, or any of us named for planetary moons?”
“Ami-chan this isn’t a homework assignment!” Usagi exclaims, “You were seriously thinking about all of this, it makes my head hurt,” and she massages her temples making a put-out noise.
I chew on my finger, “I get bored,” I consent, “Deducting on our senshi incarnations is a welcome change from homework.”
“Well we need to,” Rei says, “I have been trying fire readings, but they’re usually unclear, well, I say unclear, but what I really mean is a massive headache causing jumble. If Ami-chan can figure something with her amazing intellect more power to her, maybe something she’ll come up with will trigger someone’s memory,” she looks at Luna hopefully, as I try not to blush again.
“The astronomical monikers do seem to be a pattern,” Luna consents, “Perhaps because we seem to be…well, you seem to be protecting the Earth…it’s because it doesn’t have it’s own guardian,” she shakes her head, “I really don’t know. I’ve been wracking my brain, but the more I wrack the less I seem to remember,” she sighs again, “I keep feeling how important it is, something big is going to happen soon, and I don’t think I can prepare you any more than I have. I really-really wish I could remember more.”
“It’s okay Luna,” Makoto says, offering her a piece of fatty meat that she’s not using, “We understand how frustrating it must be, don’t we?” she looks around at us hefting the knife as if we would disagree, “Do you even know how come you’re a talking cat, and not a person wandering around trying to find us?”
Luna shakes her head, and it almost seems as if she’s blushing beneath the fur, “Moah,” she says, mournfully, “I have no idea. About the only thing I can think of is if a person ran up to you on the street and told you that you were a senshi, and that you had magical powers you probably wouldn’t believe them…but I’m a talking cat, that’s pretty strange to begin with…although some of us,” she looks at Usagi, “some of us thought they were dreaming,” she sighs, “I guess that’s my own fault for only managing to get a hold of her when she was getting ready for bed. The rest of you, found during the day…it was slightly easier.”
Usagi nods, “You woke me up, Luna. I have dreams like that all the time.”
“You have dreams where talking cats wake you up?” Makoto inquires, with a strange smile. Whatever she’s doing she’s apparently finished, because she puts the pan into the oven, and sets the timer, “Ten minutes,” she says, moving to get check on the pan on the stove top and turn it up so the water will boil.
“Well, no,” Usagi says, toying with her fingers, “not since I was little, but I have dreams where I wake up from a dream and I’m actually still dreaming,” she pauses, “So that was the big important meeting?” she continues, “Luna! Here I was all worked up, and…”
“Usagi-chan,” Luna says, still with seriousness permeating her tone, “It is important. All of this is very important. Things are building. I’m sure very soon we will not be fighting youma, but whoever it is that’s controlling them. We can’t assume that our enemy is clueless. They may well know more about us than I have been able to remember. It cannot have escaped them that they have fought different people. They will probably assume that we are much better equipped than we are, as far as knowledge goes and could attack with full force,” she emphasizes ‘full force’ by smacking the counter top with her paw, “We have to be prepared. We have to find someway to train…and beyond that you must be very careful to tell no one else of who you are, not only will it put yourselves in danger, but them as well.”

The information gave us a lot to think about, and also gives me a bit of a sense of foreboding…
