Usagi-chan was excited to day because her grade average has gone up a few points. I’m glad she’s proving to herself that she’s able to excel. Hopefully this will give her more confidence in her abilities.
C’est la Vie! v. 4.01
Usagi-chan was excited to day because her grade average has gone up a few points. I’m glad she’s proving to herself that she’s able to excel. Hopefully this will give her more confidence in her abilities.

We all seem to be being named for planets, except Usagi who is a satellite of a planet. Why is there no “Earth” then? I doubt she got her name wrong. Surely her henshin wouldn’t work otherwise. She also seems to have a different henshin item…does this denote special status?
Given our names does this mean we should have another senshi who is Venus, or Earth? or more senshi than that for the entire solar system. Why are we named for solar system? What significance does that have?
…do the review as I was intending to do.
I am also supposed to be doing some research about ‘Sailor V’ because I said I would. I spoke to Luna about it today because I had not had much time.I bowed out of a trip to a theme park with Usagi-chan-tachi (because I wanted to make up on the V investigating time I missed tutoring Aoshi-kun, among other things which have come up).
In some respects I’m glad I did, because of the youma attack, but I did also miss a Sailor V sighting, she actually spoke to Usagi-chan again, and I’m sure I could have been some help if I had been there.
The other night Usagi-chan had run into her (Sailor V, that is), while fighting some ‘corn dollie’ type youma. V-san had warned her to stay away from Tuxedo Kamen because either he was dangerous, or might be dangerous, Usagi-chan wasn’t very clear. She brought this prospect up at the meeting we had the next day, when we showed Kino-san the Crown Center for the first time.
With Tuxedo Kamen we’ve always had a bit of a ‘grey area’. He has protected Usagi-chan on numerous occassions, but he’s a known thief. For this reason Kino-san feels inclined to side with V-san that he is untrustworthy. Rei-chan doesn’t feel as if she’s ever really had a ‘bad vibe’ from him, and so consequently I’m torn. I would like to be able to trust these intuitions, but I’ve never really had cause to have confidence in my own all that much.
So, I can see I’m going to have to have another “fact book” (or at least a post or two) for information on Tuxedo Kamen and try to compare one off against the other…
Usagi-chan had been feeling that Motoki-onii-san might be Tuxedo Kamen, and one of the reasons she wanted to go on the trip to the theme park was to investigate this possibility.
He had three tickets to theme park, so Kino-san and Rei-chan (reluctantly) went along with Usagi-chan, and wound up being paired with Chiba Mamoru-san and another friend of Motoki-onii-san’s from his ‘turtle club’.
((Chiba Mamoru-san is a person we have run into several times, and he and Usagi-chan seem to antagonise each other drastically. She found out his name at the museum the other day, while I and the other two were still not quite talking)).
It would have been that Chiba-san and herself were paired together but Kino-san switched out so that Usagi-chan could see what might happen with Motoki-onii-san.
They went on several rides, except Rei-chan with the new boy, was unable. She sensed a problem and there was a youma encounter.
The dangerous thing about this encounter was that a controller showed up. Declaring himself Jadeite one of four kings. He was more powerful than any of the youma we’ve encountered before…and gave much cause for alarm.
Tuxedo Kamen again stepped in to rescue Jupiter and Moon…and was injured. This is when Moon encountered V-san again. She warned again about Tuxedo Kamen, but apparently also said something about being unable to avoid destiny.
Moon says she bandaged Tuxedo Kamen’s hand, but wasn’t able to really get any information out of him. Although apparently he doesn’t mind getting hurt for her, and doesn’t feel she needs to apologise for needing to be rescued.
Motoki-onii-san is not Tuxedo Kamen however because he had no wound, and Usagi-chan feels that something like a ‘vibe’ was not the same.
Ah, well, back to researching sitings, maybe I can pin something down…
We showed Kino-san around a little bit. Usagi-chan had already taken her on a whirlwind tour of some of the local shops, and tried to get her to try things on. I’ve decided this is the way Usagi-chan is, and we must adapt.
Kino-san seems very nice. She’s rather quiet, but then Usagi-chan can make it difficult to get a word in edge-ways. We showed her the Crown center, and she was given her phone. Now, I’m seeing that everything in Crown is colour coded, so on some latent level Luna must have known some things about us when she designed the building/room/sub-space? We have coloured chairs which could be said to go along with the colours of our fukus and abilities and so on. For example, my chair would be the blue one, Kino-san’s is the green one…and so on.
I must make some more notes, but right now I have to and tutor someone from cram school…so it will have to wait.
So, we have a new senshi.
It’s interesting, because it is Kino-san. Seems a though we should trust Usagi-chan’s judgement on who to let in on these things after all. But the circumstances surrounding her awakening weren’t the greatest, but then is there really a good way to find out about these things? I someone just walks up and tells you you’re not going to believe them…the only way really is to find out by turning.
We found her almost drowned standing by a fountain, upset with herself because she’d allowed herself to believe that one of the older boys might want to meet her. These are the older boys that I talked about before who everyone in the prefecture had a basketball obsession with. Usagi-chan thought perhaps it was her own fault, in some respects, for having referred repeatedly that Kino-san was ‘boyish’. She does have an older more mature manner in many respects, even though it turns out she is our age.
Anyway, we had decided to give the boys who were mean to her a taste of their own medicine. It seems they were getting back at her, for coming to Usagi-chan’s aide the other day and making them look inferior. Kino-san had throughly beaten them at the basketball game. So, we used the henshin capability of the phone to disguise ourselves and beat them at a game of basketball.
Then we heard the sounds of a fight, and henshined to senshi in time to see a new senshi, take down a youma with a lightening power. That’s right she took down the youma. She was able to henshin by herself and kill it by herself. She’s incredibly strong; as strong as the rest of us combined!! This is amazing.
Sailor Jupiter! ((so the planetary thing is working as a pattern, for the most part)) and it was clear to us this was Kino-san. She said she understood now why certain things had happened to her, it was so that she could be maneuvered into a position to meet the rest of us.
So, now we may have our four ^_^
I’m nervous and yet also excited!
Usagi-chan found and introduced herself to the new girl today. She told us about it at the Crown. Rei-chan is curious about her because in her travels Usagi-chan brought Kino-san over to the shrine and introduced the two of them.
From what Rei-chan tells me she is perturbed because she got a strange vibe from Kino-san which means she’s either our fourth senshi, or a yoma, so we have to tread reallly carefully. I think I’m pretty safe to say we’re all hoping that she’s the senshi.
I have seen her eating lunch a few times, and as I pointed out at the meeting she obviously takes great care to make her lunches, and has a very gentle side to be able to do so. It has to be her who makes her lunches as she told Usagi-chan that she lives by herself. I know how lonely it is being by myself those nights when Mama is working, living by myself all the time I couldn’t even imagine. I didn’t ask why that’s the case I’m not sure if Usagi-chan even knows.
Usagi-chan wants the rest of us to meet with Kino-san and talk with her about that…but neither Rei-chan nor myself wish to force someone to become a senshi if that is the case. I remember how freaked out I was when Usagi-chan brought the subject up to me, and I turned out to be a senshi; what if she’s not?
Given previous experience though, perhaps she will understand and accept this task…I’m not sure which to hope for, so I’ll just hope for the best.
Usagi-chan was telling me over the weekend that she’d been hearing a lot about some older boys who were playing basketball, and that a lot of her friends were almost obsessive about watching them. I thought maybe she was exaggerating about things the way she’s tending to do with things in the past.
When we got to school today though she appeared to be telling the truth; that they were going on about these people and it was very unnatural. I thought perhaps it was just confined to school, or something to do with crushes; but several people at cram school were also going on about them, and even though I don’t know much about the ways of romance it seems that it’s not right at all.
Usagi-chan leaned over the wall scowering the street below us for signs of something. I really hope it’s not just a cute boy, “Have you heard about her?” she said, apparently continuing some train of thought in her head and expecting us to follow.
“About who?” Rei-chan asked.
“The new girl.”
“New girl?” I asked.
“At school,” Usagi continued.
“Well. then I have no hope,” Rei, from her stance leanig against the wall and drumming her fingers against it looked a little annoyed.
I chewed on my thumbnail, “I’m truly sorry, Usagi-chan, but I really don’t know,” I said, after thinking over everyone I’d seen over the past few days.
“Your points canceled out,” Rei said, turning to look at me from the other side of Usagi-chan. Her right arm was crooked on the wall, and she leaned in towards the bridge a little to avoid Usagi who was craning over so far she looked as though she might well fall.
“What?” I asked, “Usagi-chan, be careful!”
“You called her ‘Usagi-chan’,” Rei explained, “but then you so formally said you were ‘hontoni gomen‘ that the negative points canceled out the ones you gained. Usagi-chan doesn’t need such formality.”
Usagi-chan blew a raspberry at Rei-chan, fleetingly taking her eyes off the street below, “I don’t know if you’re on my side or not, Rei-chan!” she pouted, “I don’t think she’s such a brute.”
“Who?” I asked, “Rei-chan or myself?”
Usagi-chan laughed, “No, silly, the new girl, the one I’ve been talking about this entire time.”
“An event,” Rei-chan said, “Normally you drift off topic like prayers in the fire.”
“What’s her name?” I asked, hoping to continue to keep the conversation on topic.
“I don’t know,” Usagi-chan said, whiny tones in her voice, “I just heard she’s really tall,” she turned back around so she was facing between Rei-chan and myself, “and um…” her hands falter near her chest area, “um…she’s tall,” she turned back towards the bridge, “You would know her if you’d seen her. She doesn’t have our uniform yet.”
A spotlight went on in my brain replaying lunch earlier that day and the girl who was sitting on the opposite side of the roof. I found myself waving my hands as I recalled the image, “I have! I’ve seen her…I think…” I stopped, blushing as I realized what I was doing and grabbing one hand with the other.
Rei-chan laughed a little, but stopped fairly quickly as if she too doesn’t want to let loose for fear of what might be said, settling on a bemused look.
“…but…” I continued, “the point was that I’ve seen her.”
Usagi-chan turned to me and grabbed hold of my hands excitedly, “Truly? Where?”
“Eating lunch near where I do, if her uniform is tan and white that is.”
“Yes! Yes!” Usagi-chan beamed, jumping up and down and pulling my arms, “Oooh, that’s great, great! Maybe I can meet her there. You have to agree it’s not fair that people should assume such things!”
“What things?” Rei asked, “Maybe she just wants to be left alone, Usagi-chan. You can’t browbeat everyone you meet into hang out, it’s not fair.”
“It’s not fair for them to think she’s a brute!” Usagi-chan retorted, “Did she attack you Ami-chan?”
“Well, no…but we were just eating outr lunches. There was no call. She looked over at me once or twice and we smiled at each other, but if she wants to eat alone who am I to say anything?”
Rei-chan nodded, “Leave it, Usagi-chan. Besides how are you going to have time to get to know anyone else? We have our duty, we have our classes, you have other friends, right? It’s just one more person to keep all this,” she pointed to Usagi-chan’s brooch, “a secret from.”
Usagi-chan’s face broke into a very heavy pout, and she sighed loudly, “You’re mean, Rei-chan!” she exclaimed, “Telling me not to be nice to someone!”
It was Rei-chan’s turn to sigh, “I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t be nice to her. I’m just warning you to be careful. Do you really want to be lying to anyone else? You’ve already said how hard it’s been with Osaka-san and your family…”
Usagi-chan took me around some shops after school today. It was nice, although she starts to run off and it takes a lot of energy to keep up with her at times.
We met Osaka-san at a jewelry store, and after she and Usagi-chan had been talking for a while, I excused myself so that they could talk more freely.
I wound up wandering towards the shrine, and Rei-chan and I had tea and talked for a little while. Rei-chan was telling me how glad she was I wasn’t pushing myself as I had before, any more, and I got embarrassed, but if we’re being honest it really doesn’t take much to make me embarrased.
The air has been cleared and there’s a lot of relief all round. I acknowledge that I’m a complete idiot for a smart person; but I’ll get over it. Usagi-chan and Rei-chan understand and forgive me.
I went to the museum after I did my test but was too late in the sense that the youma was already leaving, but on time in the sense that I could use my transformation to a senshi and chase after it. It beat me soundly, however, and left me pinned and unable to move; but I was rescued by Moon and Mars. Despite everything stupid I’d done they were willing to rescue me, and put themselves at risk to do so.
Banded together we were able to defeat the youma, and were all safe. The stones it had found were not the crystal that we were looking for; but we’re all friends again and that’s the main thing. They’ve proved to me that they’re true friends, not just after me for homework.
Although if I could help Usagi-chan to concentrate on her homework for more than ten minutes I would feel a little bit better. I know she’s smart enough to handle this she just doesn’t believe it about herself, like I have a hard time believing about myself that I can be worthy of friends and they’re helping me
