This is more of a family portrait really. Nimue was snuggling with me and the munchkin came over to pet her, so I decided to try and get a portrait of all of us. Not going to mention how many tries it took to get all of us decently in the photo where you could actually tell what’s going on.

The munchkin keeps trying to play basketball like the “big boys” who live across the street. It’s so cute.

Fear the kitty spam!

A mid-week self portrait. As you can see I’m very happy to have my kitty. I’m also glad that she’s not causing my husband any real allergy problems. You can see on my main blog how we’ve been working around that: How to Have a Cat Despite Having Allergies. I did a lot of research because I want the cat to be a member of the family that no one resents and I know lots of people who have cats despite being allergic so I figured it was possible.

We picked up the kitty yesterday from the Leesburg Humane Society. We’re calling her Nimue Caledonia. She’s a young cat but not kitten enough that she hasn’t been fixed. We figured that was a good compromise with the munchkin.

I’m glad I’ve worked out how to do necklaces properly. It opens up a whole new area of fun with my beading and crafts.

Here I’m all happy because hubbie’s said that it’s okay to get a kitty cat for our anniversary. I meant to have this up on Sunday so that I could enter Cass’s new version of Self Portrait Sunday on MidLife Musings but I got behind as we were very busy over the weekend going back and forth in preparation for the kitty being with us.

On Friday I took the munchkin to the Leesburg Humane Society to see the cats there because he was so excited about seeing the neighbor’s kitty under his Dad’s car.

Unfortunately it made me really, really pine for a kitty cat. Hubbie and I are in negotiations given he has allergies and is more of a dog person.
