The Mean Kitty Song

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Anyone with a cat can relate very well to this song and video that were made by Corey “Mr. Safety” Williams.

This is one of those youtube gems that always makes me smile. I had to subscribe to smpfilms after watching this. I love some of the other Mean Kitty episodes, particularly the one where he tries to get a “Witch Doctor” to help stop Sparta biting.

Stardust

Monday, January 7th, 2008

I finally got to see the movie Stardust this weekend. It had just come out and was at Walmart and I picked it up while I was there. It’s a very cute fun movie. I liked it a lot even if there were a couple of parts that happened and enabled me to plot read how things would come out.

I like the set-up, the way that magic works in the world beyond the wall, and the way the movie teaches the lessons that are within the story. At the risk of plot spoilering…

Once Tristan and his love-interest, Victoria, were sitting there talking about how Hubert was going “all the way to Ipswich” to buy her a ring, and he was talking about all the things he would do for her instead I realized that she was an inappropriate person for him to be with. She was so selfish and self-centered, once he talked about something that was gross that he would do and she snorted at it and threatened to leave I was mentally going, “Why are you in love with this trollop?” she’s not worthy of you. She proved this later on  in the same scene because she told him that he had a week to bring her back the star or she would marry Hubert. What sort of love is that? Whoever brings me a trinket first is the one I’ll marry? Yuck.

But he sorted that out through his travels, and the progression/growing up that he went through during the movie wasn’t contrived, but made sense.

Netflix

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

I’ve been having a bunch of fun today browsing through Netflix’s play now capabilities to catch up on some television shows that I have been wanting to watch.

I was able to watch the pilot episode of “Earth 2″ and also of “Sliders”. I’d read about “Earth 2″ when we still lived in England but it never made it over there that I saw, and then “Sliders” I’d seen some early episodes of but never the beginning.

I always forget that the “play now” option is there. It’s useful given we’re still in the throes of the holiday and the move and things aren’t coming into our mailbox regularly yet.

Hello world!

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

So here is the first post on what will be the picture-a-day blog, and also the blog where I talk about films we’ve seen, games we’re playing, gaming that we do and things like that. All the fun multi-media things.

Let’s see who finds this place while I’m getting things set up. Should be interesting!

In case you’re wondering where you know me from or if you know me. I blog at ami-chan.net, and I run Look Beyond Mirrors. I also do Web Design from time to time, and am a huge Mizuno Ami fan

So, I’m home and bored, and this is the sort of thing I do when I’m bored. I’m still trying to wake up. I really need to eat or get coffee, but I don’t know what to do yet. So, I’ve been looking around trying to find what books I need for next semester and hopefully get myeslf together enough to get to the post office.

On the upside while I was perusing for my syllabi I found the transcript archive and am feeling a lot less apprehensive about my classes this past semester ^_^ The first teacher I have Dr. K has a note in the syllabus about working with people if they tell her in advance they’re going to be absent and apparently the chat sessions are optional. I’ll probably go to all of them which I can anyway. But hopefully if I email her now and explain I’m getting married and we would like to have a honeymoon so that means I could be away the 20-21 she’ll tell me in advance if we have assignments due those days and I can get them done. She has assignments listed on the syllabus and what we’re covering on given days but not which assignments match up with which of those areas of study.
I still need to find the syllabus for Information Policy though.
