Hubbie reminded me the other day that I should get in touch with someone about getting a new computer. We’d talked about getting a new one when we thought that the one I’m typing on right now had kicked the bucket. However now that it seems to be working he suggested looking away from desktop computers and seeing about getting a laptop.
I’m not sure if the place that I’d been looking to get a desktop computer through, our tech guru of choice would be able to get us a laptop. Though they are one of the few local computer fixers who do work on laptops as well as desktops, which is promising.
I do need to get in touch with them, the worst they can say is “no” right? Having a portable computer would be useful on many levels, not just the “shiny” factor. On days that I’m not well I could keep up with work from my bedroom. Hubbie jokes that he could be on the computer at the same time as me because I wouldn’t be able to hog two at once (he’d be surprised). There’s also the factor that I could take websites with me to show clients things on the computer without having to burn things to disc so I could make adjustments then and there and show them various options. There’s also the added plus that a newer computer would be able to play “Sims 3″ this computer can’t run it which makes me sad.
