Our house renovations are almost complete. Today the last of the plaster was done. Roomie and I started the plastering over the weekend, hence me forgetting to post for Self Portrait Sunday. I actually got a shot taken and everything, I’ll probably post it tomorrow just because it was a cute shot with Roomie and the Munchkin and I.
Yesterday we helped plaster, and today I helped the builder to finish up the plastering (it was one of the contingencies we had when setting things up) that we would all help with plastering because it’s a hard job to do by yourself and I’ve actually had experience with plastering before. Roomie helped a little bit but she had a lot of textbooks she had to get through for her course today so she was busy with that, but gave me a break for about twenty minutes.
Tomorrow the floor will go in and then we’re all but done. We just have to paint, but we’re going to move everything in before we paint, because the plaster takes two weeks to fully dry, so we’re going to cover some of the furniture and paint one wall at a time. Otherwise it’ll be two more weeks of Roomie sleeping on the floor and that’s just not acceptable to me.
No updates on the XBox so far. The shipping box was supposed to arrive today and as far as I can tell it hasn’t. I also imagine that the garbage collectors aren’t so happy with us or aren’t going to be because we have a LOT of debris to give them. I called and they actually take it, which is nice, because it means we don’t have to find a way to get to the landfill, but we’re going to break it up. We put a portion of the construction debris out today, we’ll put some more out on Friday and just keep putting a few bags out until it’s all gone.
