Winner!

We have a winner for the Guess What Happened contest.
The lovely Skeet from Skeet’s Stuff guessed that perhaps the munchkin had gotten into some food coloring, and she is absolutely correct. I made the birthday cake for the joint birthday party for myself and a friend, and I got out the food coloring and made the white cake blue, teal and green marble instead of just plain old white.
I could swear I made sure to put the food coloring back high up on the shelf. Maybe it fell through because we have wire shelves in the pantry, maybe he can reach higher than I thought, but yesterday while I was uploading some video I heard him go into the pantry. I figured he would be right out with a snack that he wanted me to open, but instead there was SILENCE. So, I said, “Honey, what are you doing?” and he gleefully replies, “I paint!”
I got up. I said, “What?”
He runs out to me with his green hands and then runs back into the laundry room, “I paint, Mummy!”
And I find him on one of the ironing boards with this blue and green puddle and the box of food coloring which he handed to me. It had contained red, yellow, blue and green colors, but all of them were cap-less and empty.
I’m actually surprised but one round in the washer and the ironing board cover and his clothes and mine are color free, I figured it would stick. I’m not so sure about the laundry room walls and sink, or the bathroom door though. I’m hoping Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, which works so well on wax crayon will get it off…but maybe we’ll be repainting the doors…
Today he tipped out coffee, and pepto bismol (not at the same time). He waited until after we got back from shopping and replaced the pepto and got milk, eggs and bread before tipping out the coffee, and was trying to eat the grounds. I’m so glad it was the decaf!
Anyway, my dear blogging friend Skeet, congratulations. You get to choose if you would like a button for your site or a four card tarot reading, and I will encourage everyone to check out Skeet’s site, because she always has funny and interesting posts, and she also has a weekly contest called Tuesday Teaser where we all wrack our brains trying to work out what item she’s taken a strange and unusual cropped picture of. I’ve not gotten one of those right yet. Have to keep trying!

OMG, that’s so funny! Especially the part about almost eating the coffee grounds! I *shudder* to think if it’d been ‘leaded’ and he’d had a chance eat some of it! Oh my!!
What about his hands? Are they clean yet?
Oooh, I knew it was some kind of dye. I just didn’t think creatively enough.
Hope you get everything clean. We had a similar, albeit slightly different disaster when our cat whacked our dog in the face, catching the corner of her ear on his claw on the process. She didn’t seem too perturbed, but the blood WOULD NOT STOP. In a period of about five minutes as she ran around shaking her head all over, she managed to get blood spatters all over the mattress, walls, carpet, sheets…it was quite a day.
Hee! My experience raising a boy has finally come in handy, lol! Sounds just like some of the things mine did at that age.
Still thinking about the prize choice. I need to wake up my “other” blogs, which have been sleeping for a while, so maybe a button or something to help promote one of those?
Ah, fun times. At least everything got clean.
Did you see the “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” teaser trailer came out last night? It’s really cool and I think the director will do this movie justice — unlike the vaguely disappointing OoTP. “Deathly Hallows” has been separated into two movies, though, so they can get all the important material in.
Lisa, his hands are *almost* clean; but I’m definitely glad it wasn’t leaded, because last time he got into caffeine, he broke my laptop and several other things in his hypermania.
Liz, OMG! That is pretty crazy. We haven’t had anything like that yet…but the way the munchkin annoys poor Nim (our cat) I fear it may only be a matter of time before some thing like that does.
Well, almost everything is clean. I still haven’t tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the bathroom door, but today’s my “day off” so I’ve decided I’m not bothering about things like that today.
I haven’t seen that trailer. I’ll have to look around for it, it’s bound to be up on line somewhere.
Well, if that’s what you want to do just send me some links to those sites and let me know what sort of color scheme and things like that you’re thinking off. I can do you some mid size buttons, maybe some square ones like the size that would fit in the ProjectWonderful ad boxes I have up on my site.
