My Computer Worries Me Sometimes

Posted by User ImageAmi-chan on July 4, 2008

A friend asked me to burn him a DVD movie today of some files that we have on the computer, and I said “Okay” the DVD burning program told me that I needed to have 4 gigs of space available to burn the DVD and I only had 3 available. So, I cleared off a couple of gigs of space, and turned off the program that my hubbie was using to download an anime so that it didn’t fill back up again, and set the program to burning.

Then it errored because I forgot to put the disc in so we restarted it. (This is two hours in by the way because encoding takes a while), and then it errored again because there was not enough space. I’m going okay? You asked for 4 gigs. I made sure there was 5.4 gigs of space available…how can their be “not enough space”?

So, I look at what it’s asking me for and it says there are 937 megs available! Where does FOUR gigs go in two hours? Especially when there’s nothing open that’s downloading anything? Those better be damn important gigs of random data that just APPEARED on the computer! That’s all I’m saying.
