Adjustment
May 23rd, 2008I’m still adjusting to my husband being at work during the day. It’s difficult. He wakes up at 4:30 a.m. now so I get disrupted sleep, aside from the fact that I got used to sleeping in bed by myself every night for the past year so sharing the bed again has been a bit difficult. Last night was the first time we really managed to click in the bed again, by which I mean, we weren’t waking each other up every ten minutes moving, shifting, getting stuck, stealing blankets and things.
Still I feel tired. I’ve been up early the past couple of days anyway, because yesterday was my Mum’s citizenship swearing in ceremony. While mine was 2:30 in the afternoon, Mum’s was 9:30 a.m. but we had to be there for 8:30 a.m. which meant being up at around 5 a.m. and the day before the munchkin woke up when my husband went to work and while I was able to get him back to sleep I couldn’t get myself back to sleep.
Ah, well. We’ll get there, this is the end of the first week, and after more than a year of us all being mostly on nights schedule it’s going to take a little time to get reacquainted with daylight.
