Jewelry
January 6th, 2008My pentacle necklace’s chain broke the other day and I’m having a hard time finding another one. I want to get a snake chain but nowhere locally seems to have snake chains at the minute, or chains in silver. People that work at the jewelry counters tend to be a bit put out when I tell them I’m not interested in gold chains, or gold jewelry. It was the same when we were shopping for wedding rings.
I remember we had countless arguments with people who worked at jewelry stores because I wanted a silver or white gold band with only simple designs and no stones set in it. They kept telling me how popular and cute and pretty all these other items were that I was not interested in. Partially because they’re a lot more expensive than the ones we were interested in, but they also felt a lot more flimsy. If I’m going to get a ring I want to be sure that I know that I’m wearing it at all times, something that’s less than 1/4 of an inch thick and light as a feather is not going to cut it.
As it was after going to five or six stores we found a place where the people were genuinely interested in getting me what I wanted and what would make me happy rather than what would give them the biggest commission. I think I’m going to have to go to the same store (if it’s still open) to replace the snake chain, or just order one online.
It looks like I might have to do the same with print cartridges. I drove all the way into town to get cartridges for the computer only to find I got the wrong ones. I had a brain lapse and got the type that were compatible with our old printer.
So, if anyone has a Hewlett Packard printer that uses 27/28 cartridges let me know and I can pass them along seeing as I can’t take the open ones back to the store.

Wedding band woes, eh? Since I’m poor, I’ve resorted to finding the cheapest site on the net, but they have a decent return policy and a great selection, so I’m going to stick with them. We’re purchasing ours later this year for an autumn wedding, so I’ve got some time to mentally and economically prepare, but it’s still a stressful venture.
