Life Throws Strange Things your Way

March 18th, 2007

I’m excited and also apprehensive about a prospect which came up a while ago. It slipped from my mind after my husband first mentioned it to me, and then with the stressful things which happened yesterday my mind brought it back up to me as a distraction.

What happened yesterday was that my mother-in-law was admitted into hospital. She has cancer and has been going through chemo as it’s fairly progressed, and complications from the chemo have affected her ability to swallow, and those complications have caused her to be admitted. We’re all praying that she’s not in pain and that they can do something for her so she can actually eat without nearly choking all the time as she needs her strength to fight the cancer, and given I was stranded at home without a car and not able to do much more than light candles and pray, my brain reminded me of this opportunity.

There’s been some incidents where my husband works which have prompted them to wonder if their building is haunted, and at the last staff meeting my husband went to the Chief asked if anyone knew any psychics, and my husband says, “I’m married to one.” So, at some point I get to go ghost-hunting. I haven’t really done that in a while, and some incidents we’ve had around the home have prompted me to start stretching my muscles again instead of shutting that aspect of myself down. I think I might need to go back up to my college town and poke around a bit, to really exercise them, as that place was very haunted, and I think I perhaps overloaded myself a bit.

They have some theories, and they’ve had some pretty interesting activity, so we’ll see what comes up. My parents live in the same town so they can easily babysit the munchkin while we go investigating.

So, with that I managed to distract myself, and I wonder about it again this morning, but I won’t press my husband because he’s worried about his Mom, understandably. I’m not going to call his Dad just yet for an update, because his Dad was exhausted when I spoke to him yesterday, and it’s still pretty early. At least before my husband goes back to work tonight we can perhaps stop by and visit and bring the munchkin, as the munchkin always cheers his Mom up. We’ll have to see if she’s up for it.
