Ultrasound 2

He’s head down, which is v. good, especially as his head is completely clear of the placenta, so he should no problem ‘leaving’. The tech estimated he weighs currently 4 lbs 15 oz, which she said is very good. Apparently clearing the 5 pound mark is one of the best things a baby can do. She was able to get clear pictures of all of his organs, but because of the way he was facing we couldn’t get any shots of his face, or see his parts. It’s good we were able to convince him to show at the previous one, otherwise we’d be completely in the dark right now.

She said he was sleeping, and we did try to wake him up, but nada. Even her letting me go to the bathroom and come back didn’t make any difference. Although we were having fun with the fact he had his hands balled up into fists for punching.

On the upside we were able to find out what we went there to find out, which is that we don’t have to schedule for a C-section. We can try for ‘regular delivery’. So, that’s good.

Then on the drive home he apparently woke up and starting kicking me a bit, figures, eh?

She did print us out a couple of shots, which I will scan and post up over the next couple of days, as we’re about to have Mum and Dad arrive so we can go out for lunch for Mum’s birthday. The shots really aren’t very clear, as it was a regular ultrasound, not a 3-D, and because his head is down, and the way he’s facing we really couldn’t see anything for very long. It was like looking in a fun house mirror.

In other news, D survived getting shot with the taser. He has passed his certification now, and can use a taser while on duty if he has to. He got another letter of commendation. This time from a member of the city council for his professional conduct regarding another investigation that was going on to do with a burglary at a hardware store.
